Similarly, a terrible tragedy involving a 20-year-old woman in Delhi’s Sultanpuri earlier this month generated significant indignation across the country.
Anjali Singh was murdered in the early hours of January 1 after her scooter was hit by a car and she was dragged for around 13 kilometres from Sultanpuri in outer Delhi to Kanjhawala.
The woman, who was riding her two-wheeler with her buddy Nidhi, was hit by a vehicle. While Nidhi fled the scene of the accident “out of terror,” Anjali collapsed and her leg became entangled in one of the car’s wheels, causing her to be pulled away.
The woman suffered 40 external injuries, her ribs were “exposed from her back,” her spine was shattered, and some “brain matter was gone,” according to the post-mortem report.
Following the crash, all five individuals in the automobile were detained.
