Founded in 1884, Marks and Spencer or M&S is extremely popular across the globe. In October last year, M&S announced closure of 67 shops. However, Marks and Spencer plans to open 104 more Simply Food shops. Marks and Spencer currently has food-only sites of 316, as per a report in Mirror.
The company also aims to save around £309 million in rent costs, according to the Mirror report.
As many as seven Marks and Spencer stores are under consultations to close or relocate, as per a Daily Express report.
These are – 1. East Kilbride Shopping Centre, 2. Carlton Street, Castleford, 3. Meadowbank retail park, Edinburgh, 4. Newport Road, Cardiff, 5. Eagles Meadow, Wrexham, 6. Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, 7. Deansgate, Bolton, according to Daily Express report.
