Passengers on an Air India flight from Chennai to Delhi experienced a nearly five-hour delay, alleging that they were made to deboard the flight after waiting for an hour on the aircraft.
According to a passenger onboard, they were initially made to wait in the aircraft for at least 90 minutes. Later, the passengers were asked to deboard due to a technical glitch in the plane, disrupting its operations.
“Air India 2836. Have been inside the aircraft for more than 90 mins. After an announcement at 1153am that “our aircraft is facing technical difficulties & engineers are looking into it”, NOTHING! No announcements. No refreshments. No revised timeline,” the passenger wrote on X.

Responding to this, Air India said the flight was “delayed due to operational reasons” and would be departing shortly.
“The flight is delayed due to operational reasons and will be departing shortly. Our team is trying their best to minimize the inconvenience caused. Requesting your patience in this regard,” the airline said.
The conversation continued when the passenger replied, “@DGCAIndia We are deplaning. The flight is NOT departing shortly!”. The airline said, “Dear Sir, please don’t worry we’re alerting our ground team to provide all the required assistance.”
The Air India flight, which was initially scheduled to land at 2:15 pm, is now expected to arrive in the national capital around 7 pm.
