Bill
Clinton,
the
former
President
of
the
United
States,
was
admitted
to
Georgetown
University
Medical
Center
in
Washington
on
Monday.
The
78-year-old
developed
a
fever
and
was
hospitalised
in
the
afternoon
for
tests
and
observation,
according
to
Angel
Urena,
Clinton’s
deputy
chief
of
staff.
“He
remains
in
good
spirits
and
deeply
appreciates
the
excellent
care
he
is
receiving,” Urena
stated.

Clinton,
a
Democrat
who
served
as
president
from
January
1993
to
January
2001,
recently
spoke
at
the
Democratic
National
Convention
in
Chicago.
He
also
campaigned
for
Democratic
Vice
President
Kamala
Harris
ahead
of
November’s
election,
which
was
unsuccessful.
Over
the
years,
Clinton
has
experienced
several
health
issues.
Clinton’s
Health
Challenges
In
2004,
Clinton
underwent
quadruple
bypass
surgery
due
to
prolonged
chest
pains
and
shortness
of
breath.
The
following
year,
he
returned
to
the
hospital
for
surgery
on
a
partially
collapsed
lung.
In
2010,
he
had
two
stents
placed
in
a
coronary
artery.
These
health
challenges
prompted
him
to
adopt
a
mostly
vegan
diet,
which
helped
him
lose
weight
and
improve
his
health.
In
2021,
during
the
height
of
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
Clinton
was
hospitalised
for
six
days
in
California
for
an
infection
unrelated
to
COVID-19.
An
aide
explained
that
he
had
a
urological
infection
that
spread
to
his
bloodstream
but
did
not
lead
to
septic
shock.
Although
he
was
in
an
intensive
care
section
of
the
hospital,
he
did
not
require
ICU
care.
Clinton’s
recent
hospitalisation
is
another
chapter
in
his
ongoing
health
journey.
Despite
these
challenges,
he
continues
to
remain
active
in
public
life
and
political
events.
His
resilience
and
commitment
to
maintaining
his
health

and
