Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with BJP national president Nitin Nabin’s newly appointed team of national office-bearers, stressing the need for stronger grassroots connect, collective responsibility and new ways of reaching out to young people, sources told CNN-News18.
The interaction, held at the BJP headquarters, marked the first meeting between PM Modi and the newly appointed national office-bearers after the party’s organisational overhaul.
The new team under Nabin was announced on August 17 and comprises 65 office-bearers, including 51 new faces.

According to sources, PM Modi interacted with all the national office-bearers and patiently heard each of them as they introduced themselves and spoke about their careers, experiences and work.
The meeting lasted around four-and-a-half hours, according to sources who spoke to CNN-News18.
PM Modi’s Guidance To New BJP Team
Sources told CNN-News18 that PM Modi, drawing on his own experience as the party’s general secretary (organisation), offered the new team practical insights into taking the organisation forward.
He spoke about the importance of building synergy within the organisation, collective responsibility and maintaining smooth coordination across different levels of the party.
A key message from the Prime Minister was that every organisational initiative and strategy should focus on deepening the BJP’s grassroots connection with the general public.
PM Modi also stressed that organisational interactions and meetings should serve as platforms for bringing in fresh ideas and viewpoints.
In a post on X after the meeting, he said such meetings were about “new ideas and perspectives” aimed at strengthening the party and deepening its connect with the people.
Sources further said PM Modi asked Team Nabin to explore new ways of reaching out to and connecting with the youth.
ANI, citing a source, reported that PM Modi advised the office-bearers to remain connected with people, strengthen the organisation and reinforce the party’s ideology while remaining committed to serving the nation.
Nitin Nabin Holds First Meeting With New Team
Earlier on Saturday, Nabin held his first meeting with the newly appointed national office-bearers.
According to news agency PTI, discussions focused on preparations for upcoming state Assembly elections, grassroots mobilisation and communicating government initiatives to the public.
More meetings were also scheduled with state presidents, state in-charges and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, according to party sources cited by PTI.
The BJP’s new national team represents the party’s biggest organisational reshuffle in more than a decade.
The 65-member team includes 13 national vice presidents and eight national general secretaries.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and former RSS functionary Ram Madhav are among the vice presidents, while former Union minister Smriti Irani is among the general secretaries.
BL Santhosh has been retained as national general secretary (organisation), while Vinod Tawde and Sunil Bansal continue as general secretaries.
Union minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed national treasurer, a position he had held before becoming a minister in the first Narendra Modi government in 2014.
The new team also includes 12 women and six leaders from minority communities, according to PTI.
Changes In BJP’s Organisational And Outreach Teams
The reshuffle has also brought changes to the BJP’s technology, media and youth wings.
The party removed Amit Malviya as the head of its IT department and appointed Deepak Mhaske in his place.
Hemang Joshi has been named the new president of the BJP’s Yuva Morcha, replacing Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya.
The party has also appointed new heads for its various frontal organisations.
Roop Kumari Choudhary will lead Mahila Morcha, Amarpal Maurya will head OBC Morcha, Bansilal Gurjar will lead Kisan Morcha, Shivesh Kumar Ram will head SC Morcha, Dr Mannalal Rawat will head ST Morcha and Kunwar Basit Ali will head Minority Morcha.
On the media side, Anil Baluni has been appointed media convener, while Deepak Mhaske has been named social media convener.
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan From September 17
The organisational meeting was followed by a workshop linked to the BJP’s planned nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde said.
Tawde announced that the month-long campaign will run from September 17 to October 17 and will mark Prime Minister Modi’s 25 years in public life.
The programme will include service activities, efforts to connect beneficiaries with government schemes and initiatives aimed at engaging young people in service and innovation.
According to ANI, the campaign will be taken to the booth level.
BJP workers will honour Anganwadi workers and organise ‘Matri Samvad’ programmes, with the party planning outreach across more than 1.4 million Anganwadi centres.
The BJP also plans ‘Seva Mein Mera Yogdan’ activities encouraging citizens and youth to showcase service initiatives, while the ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ will organise block-level camps to help eligible beneficiaries access welfare schemes.
A National Innovation Challenge will also be organised to encourage young people to develop solutions to local issues through research and innovation.
BJP Passes Vande Mataram Resolution
The BJP’s new national office-bearers also passed a resolution on Vande Mataram during the meeting.
The party condemned the Congress Working Committee’s decision to restrict the singing of the National Song to its first two stanzas at party programmes and said it would oppose the move.
The BJP said it considers Vande Mataram an expression of reverence for Bharat Mata, a mantra of the freedom struggle and a symbol of national consciousness.
It announced a nationwide campaign to spread awareness about the history and significance of the National Song.
The organisational overhaul and subsequent meetings come as the BJP prepares for upcoming state Assembly elections, with grassroots mobilisation, communication of government initiatives and strengthening the party’s organisational network emerging as key priorities.
