The UK-based Daily Mail has acquired photos of mysterious cocaine found inside the White House during the summer. They were obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request, the newspaper said.

On July 2, US Secret Service agents found a suspicious white substance in the West Wing’s publicly accessible area, prompting a brief evacuation. The preliminary examination identified the powder as cocaine. President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter who has a history of drug abuse, were at Camp David during the discovery.

The cocaine was found “inside a receptacle used to temporarily store electronic and personal devices before entering the West Wing,” the Secret Service had said. The Secret Service, concluding its investigation on July 14, had declared an inability to identify a suspect due to the absence of fingerprints or DNA on the bag. Without physical evidence, singling out a person of interest among the hundreds who passed through the vestibule is challenging.

The FBI lab tests showed insufficient DNA, and fingerprints could not be recovered. “Without physical evidence, the investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered,” the Secret Service had said. “At this time, the Secret Service’s investigation is closed due to a lack of physical evidence.”

Despite a thorough probe, investigators couldn’t pinpoint when the cocaine was deposited near the West Wing’s lower entrance, a high-traffic area for presidential activities and tours. Speculation arose that a White House tour participant may have left the bag. However, former President Donald Trump insinuated the cocaine was for Hunter Biden’s use.
