The Chhattisgarh Police merit list has gone viral for an unusual reason: the candidates’ names. Unique names such as “News”, “Space Rani”, “He Ram”, and “Bhakt Prahlad” are among many candidates that have caught the attention of social media users, sparking widespread discussion online.

Following the release of the merit list for Chhattisgarh’s police recruitment preliminary examination, the Congress questioned the credibility of the selection process and alleged irregularities.

However, the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC), which conducted the preliminary examination for 341 police posts on July 12, dismissed the allegations. The commission maintained that all the names in the merit list are genuine and match the details submitted by candidates in their application forms and supporting documents. The results were declared on August 4, with 7,301 candidates qualifying for the main examination.
