Lucknow Independence Day celebrations 2026: Bike rally, cycling, Jashn-e-Azadi, food fests and open DIY activities


    Lucknowites are set to celebrate Independence Day in style. From cycle and bike rally, musical event, interactive session to offers of food and curated menu, a lot has been planned to make the day special.

    Tasty options

    Fairfield by Marriott is organising a three-day celebration at its Kava restaurant where 50% off is being given on the buffet. A special brunch is also being organised on Sunday. Dishes from different states have been included in the menu.

    Chef Avinash Kumar has curated a Azadi Ka Jashn brunch at Hotel Ramada in which dishes have been named as Kranti Ki Shuraat, Hum Hindustani, Yeh Gulistan Humara, The Kakori Kaand, 1857 ka Virodh, Adazi Ke Diwane will be served.

    Chef Himani and Chef Bhaskar are doing an Dawat-e-Hind fest at Sassy Canteen where they have prepared Chicken Thalapakatti Biryani and Veg Dindigul Biryani using Kala Namak rice from Uttar Pradesh as an ode to the farmers.

    At Hyatt Regency the China House restaurant is organising 20% discount alongwith welcome mocktails, live music, interactive kids’ activities and game zone.

    Jashn-e-Azadi

    The multilevel parking area will witness an event on August 15 at 1 pm where 80 kgs of laddoos will be distributed. Various colourful cultural events under the Bharat Parva will be held on the occasion by Jashn-e-Azadi Trust informed organisers Murlidhar Ahuja and Wamiq Khan.

    “A musical event will also be held on the I-Day eve at Moti Mahal lawns and on August 16 team members will move around in different localities to collect the flags if someone has disposed of on roads to give it respect,” tells Khan.

    Biking along

    City-based Lazy Throttle Motorcycle Club is organising a ride from Gate No 6 of Janeshwar Mishra Park. Group’s founder Surbhit Dutt says, “We will take out a 25 km ride till Gabbar Dhabha on Sultanpur Road. We are open to people joining our members and having a disciplined ride with us. Last year, we had around 100 riders in our I-Day ride.” Royal Enfield at its showrooms, TVS and Bajaj Pulsar are organising their respective rallies on the day.

    Cycling rally

    Exploring the prominent spots in Lucknow, the Pedalyatri Cycling Association is organising a rally. “It will start from 1090 Crossing and move via Green Corridor, Hanuman Setu, Shaheed Smarak, Rumi Gate and end at Sharma Chai. It’s a 25 km ride organised by our official Anand Pandey,” tells cyclist ride leader Prabhat Ranjan

    Activities

    The Phoenix Palassio mall is organising various DIY events at its atrium. Themed installations have become an attraction for the visitors. On August 14, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) band will be performing. Fun Republic Mall has organised Feel Like Soldier Season 3 where interesting events like shooting challenges, grenade throwing, crawling, log dragging, and much more will be held. The LULU mall is also organising a band performance by the ITPB band on the day. The Seema Suraksha Bal band had already performed on August 12. The Crown Mall has also planned a host of activities including live piano performance, dance and interactive contests for the visitors.

    Show your talent

    The Hazratganj Metro station will witness and Open Mic and Show Your Talent event from 2 pm onwards. Organised by Vishwas Varma and anchor Naveen Kohli, Lucknowites can participate and showcase their talent. It will witness performances by Ravikar Saxena and Sunil Jaiswal.
