The Madras High Court has directed the state police to release Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Leader of Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today on station bail after questioning him.
The DMK leader was arrested by the cops for allegedly making derogatory remarks at Chief Minister Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan on Monday.
The Tamil Nadu government has informed the Madras High Court that it will facilitate the release of Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Leader of the Opposition, by the end of the day.
Tamil Nadu Advocate General Vijay Narayanan told the court that the police will release the DMK leader questioning. The Leader of the Opposition is being taken to Thanjavur and the state does not intend to remand him.
The Madras High Court asked Udhayanidhi Stalin to cooperate with the cops.
