Prashant Kishor said the fall of the BJP’s ’30-year fort’ in Bankipur reflects Bihar voters’ growing demand for jobs, education and development over caste politics.
Bankipur Election Result: Prashant Kishor leads
Prashant Kishor News: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Sunday described his victory in the Bankipur Assembly bypoll as the collapse of a “30-year fort”, claiming the result reflected a shift in Bihar’s political priorities towards employment, education and development.
Addressing reporters after the result, Kishor said, “The 30-year fort has collapsed in just 30 days. It has fallen because the people of Bihar now want governments to rise above four-five kilos of free ration and caste politics and work for their children’s education and employment.”
He cautioned that governments ignoring these concerns could face similar electoral setbacks in the future.
“If they do not work on these issues, they will continue to see similar election results in the future,” he said.
Appeal To PM Modi On Bihar’s Leadership
Kishor stressed that his fight was not against any individual but for better governance in Bihar. While acknowledging that the BJP-led NDA has the mandate to govern the state, he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appoint a Chief Minister who could transform Bihar’s development trajectory.
“Our fight is not against any individual. The BJP has the majority and the NDA will form the government. We are only making one request. The people of Bihar, especially those of Bankipur, are requesting Prime Minister Modi to appoint a capable and virtuous person as the Chief Minister of Bihar so that people can feel proud of being Bihari and our children can get quality education and employment,” he said.
Taking a swipe at Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Kishor said, “Samrat Chaudhary’s character and reputation are already in the public domain. If you make a person with a criminal background the Chief Minister of Bihar, Bihar cannot progress.”
He alleged, “Tainted person has been made CM of Bihar.”

‘Victory Belongs To The People Of Bankipur’
Calling the verdict a mandate for development, Kishor said the result was not about his personal victory but about the aspirations of Bihar’s people.
“This is the victory of the people of Bankipur. As we said during the election campaign, this was not just an election to choose an MLA. It was an attempt by the people of Bihar to send a message to the BJP’s central leadership that they should appoint a good person as the Chief Minister of Bihar,” he said.
He added that people were looking for a leader who could improve education, create employment opportunities, tackle corruption and ensure that Bihar’s youth no longer had to migrate to other states in search of work.
‘Our Objective Is Bihar’s Development’
Kishor said the Jan Suraaj Party’s focus would remain on Bihar’s development rather than political power.
“Before the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi, the BJP and Amit Shah had promised to improve Bihar, create jobs for its youth and stop migration. That is our only objective. We do not want to become MLAs merely to award contracts. Our sole objective is the development of Bihar,” he said.
